‘Special Case of Love’, the first song that my band ThePilgrim had made, got recorded last year. This is its story


ThePilgrim has set out to document its own journey. I pick what I remember of the song Special Case of Love with a fishing rod plunged into deep memory, and yank the fucker out to the present as though it had a life of its own. 

In the summer of 2010, Arun Cherian and I were contributors to making Omar Ahsan’s and Yasir Syed’s comfortable 2 BHK flat at Taimur Nagar impossibly stuffy. Taimur Nagar Village was always at the cusp of the swanky rich and the crowding poor and this particular flat was located on the edge of it, just enough to qualify as the civilized side of this locality. Our hostel (School of Planning and Architecture), also on the same edge, fell onto the rough side. But the hostel was closed.
